The best part of Nang Yuan is the famous island viewpoint. The hike up is on paved steps and only takes about 10 minutes. Do wear bug spray, because the mosquitoes on the way up are absolutely massive, some of the biggest I’ve ever seen in my life. Koh Nang Yuan is a private island so it is not accessible during all hours.

It’s an easy 15-minute hike to the Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint via a concrete path that leads the way through a small forest, up some stairs and then a quick scramble along a couple of large boulders, finally emerging at the viewpoint. Igår tog jag (Lina) båten till ön Nang Yuan som ligger 15 minuters båtfärd från koh tao. När jag väl kom det visade det sig att Viewpoint var stängd för renovering. Koh Nangyuan är ett dykparadis i Thailand. Ön är belägen vid Koh Tao, som ligger i östra Thailand.

The snorkeling at Koh Nang Yuan is very limited and generally, all you see is a mass of orange life jackets floating near the beach. For the snorkeling, we find alternative snorkeling locations such as Mango Bay, Japanese Gardens, Hin Wong Bay or Aow Leuk Bay – actual snorkeling locations on any given day will be dependent on the time of year and prevailing wind direction.

Nang Yuan is one of the most popular atttractions at Koh Tao, so it can get very crowded with day trippers. This is especially true at the viewpoint, where during peak hours a long line forms to take pictures at the top, and you’ll have to suffer through the horrendous mosquitoes while you’re waiting.
